Our race car
We started with the idea to create an affordable, competitive race car. The result is Time Bandit a 1,560 pound precision welded, race chassis mated with a fiberglass composite body. Styled after a 1977 Trans Am made famous in the Smokey & the Bandit movies. (Jefferson met Hal Needham in Hollywood in 1998. He was a super nice- "real" country fella from Arkansas who made good in the big city and the world- RIP Hal).
The dream for Michael started a long time ago and in 2005 became a reality.
Time Bandit has undergone numerous test-n-tune time trials, and has won several rounds of racing. We are still looking for our first final round victory! We are extremely satisfied with the race-ready reliability and superior performance of the small block"stroker" power plant. This jewel is reliable.
We feel the car has lots of room for growth with minimal changes to the existing engine. The chassis exceeds the latest in NHRA safety and licensing standards.
Note: this car is currently set up as a Pro No "E" bracket racer. 1000 ft numbers place the car solidly in the mid 7's and 130's range. Car with Driver is 1,750lbs.
So far we have raced at Centerville, AR. - Vihalia, MS. Memphis, TN- and a few others.
